Doubling Down With the Derricos matriarch Karen Derrico is down for the count. As a homeschooling mom of 14 children, any injury poses a lot of logistical issues. Thankfully, over half of the Derrico children are in double digits now, so she should have plenty of little helpers.

The Derricos have been on TV screens across America since they were expecting their fourth set of multiples that were born four years ago. Triplets Dawsyn, De’Aren, and Dyver were the couple’s fourth set of multiples. Prior to the triplets, Karen and her husband, Deon, had another set of triplets (Diez, Dior, and Carson-who they tragically lost, 6), a set of quintuplets (Deniko, Dariz, Deonee, Daician, and Daiten, 10), a set of twins (Denver and Dallas, 12), and two singletons (Derrick, 13, and Darian, soon to be 18 on December 9).
The fourth season of their family’s TLC special began airing this past summer. Unfortunately, Deon shared that the show may not be returning for a fifth season. TLC has not yet released any confirmation of this.

Meet and Eat
In an effort to meet some of their biggest supporters, the Derricos are organizing a “Meet & Eat” event. During this event, food will be provided by Derrico patriarch, Deon, and music will be performed by the Derrico Group. The Derrico Group consists of twins, Dallas and Denver, and some of the quintuplets, Dariz, Deonee, Daician, and Daiten.
In the comments promoting this event, Deon apologizes to a fan who has apparently attempted to reach out to the family privately in the past. He says,
“My sincere apologies that you’ve tried reaching out to us without a reply, I try very hard to communicate with all of our supporters!! But unfortunately no matter how hard I try I’m simply unable to respond to each message… that’s why we’ve decided to finally after thousands of request to have a Meet and Eat, so that our supporters can enjoy one on one time with us!! Please remember we are taking care of 14 children plus homeschooling and running a business 24 hours feels like 5 hours in our household! We will eventually make our rounds across the country in visiting with our adored supporters like yourself”
Karen’s “Current Situation”
Karen and Deon both do a great job of keeping their followers in the loop on social media. However, fans weren’t expecting Karen’s last update at all.
Her most recent reel features herself walking out of a hospital on crutches with a large brace from her thigh down to her calf. She explained that she had been playing and wrestling with her sons, but her husband is actually the one that caused the injury. Fans immediately flocked to the comments offering their condolences, and getting on to Deon. Lightheartedly, Deon commented, “no more wrestling for us Frfr!!! Mommy’s bones are way too little for this” along with a multitude of laughing emojis. Fans jumped on to wish Karen a speedy recovery.
How Is Mama Debbie Doing?
Deon also gave fans a wonderful update on his mother Debbie. He posted:
“#TheDERRICOs here in California visiting Family! Life is absolutely beautiful and the three best things in life is GOD, Family and spending quality time with our family. We just wanted to come to see Mama Debbie, and the rest of our fam and for those of you who either sent prayers, or asked about how was Mama Debbie, doing or made a donation… we thank you and she’s doing very good and she says thanks for all the love from you all.”
