Deon Derrico and his wife Karen from Doubling Down with the Derricos have a huge family and they have a big fanbase. Most people heard of GG, his mom who suffers from cancer. So, Mama Debbie is not her. In fact, she is not Karen’s mom either. However, the family loves her. This weekend, they gave TLC fans an update.

When the show first started airing on TLC, Karen expected triplets. At the time, they had 11 children and expected the triplets, Dawsyn, De’Aren, and Dyver. If you cast your mind back, the triplets arrived safely, but Dawsyn soon ran into health problems. Soon, thousands of fans were praying for the baby girl.
The baby became ill with covid and pneumonia and Deon Derrico was shocked to hear that someone claimed Dawsyn had died. Fortunately, TLC fans stopped panicking because he addressed the issue quickly. These days, his daughter is thriving, and that’s where Mama Debbie comes into the picture.

Doubling Down with the Derricos fans saw that the baby needed two surgeries because she was born with a hole in her heart. Really, everything seemed likely to take the life of Dawsyn before it really began. Fortunately, that didn’t happen because a member of Mama Debbie’s family donated heart tissue for the surgery. Unfortunately, Tiffany had passed away, so Karen cried her eyes out.

Having met Mama Debbie, Deon Derrico and his family maintained close ties with the woman whose daughter’s heart tissue saved Dawsyn. However, in July this year, Mama Debbie was unwell. Apparently, she had a car accident and three fractured vertebrae meant that she needed help. Tami, another daughter couldn’t manage by herself 24/7. And, physio meant a lot of money was needed if there was any hope Mama Debbie would walk again. So the TLC stars started a GoFundMe.

So far, the fundraiser fetched in just over $6K. So, on Saturday, Deon Derrico thanked those fans who donated. Additionally, he shared a lovely photo of the two families together. He explained the situation in his caption on Instagram.
