1000-Lb Sisters offspring Gage Halterman was put in a potentially risky situation while on the family vacation. This unsafe scenario plays out on this week’s TLC episode. It happened under the watchful eyes of his parents, Amy Slaton and Michael Halterman. Although they weren’t the ones handling the baby at the time.

1000-Lb Sisters: Amy Slaton Wants better for Gage Halterman

Amy Slaton often talks about wanting Gage Halterman to have a better life than she did as a child. Often, she and Tammy Slaton talk about growing up poor. They mention instability in their childhoods. On the road trip to Gatlinburg, Tennessee, recently, they dropped another bombshell.

Tammy said they were so poor they often didn’t have enough food. And her 1000-Lb Sisters co-star and sibling said they’d never been on vacation. So, it’s clear she wants the best for little Gage, But is she making the right choices for him? An upcoming scene on their show has some taking a second look.

The latest questionable activity with Gage Halterman wasn’t at her hands. But Amy was right there and should have perhaps thought twice before letting it happen. It was Amanda Halterman and Brittany Combs that had their hands on the baby at the time. So, what were they thinking on 1000-Lb Sisters?

Chris Combs Put Himself at Risk on Family Vacation Too

Days before the Gage incident, his uncle Chris Combs made a questionable choice. While at the Rowdy Bear Amusement Park, Chris hesitated to get on a rollercoaster. He worried he was too heavy. The ride worker told him the weight limit was 375 pounds in each gondola. And Chris said that’s what he weighed on 1000-Lb Sisters.

But the amusement park’s website states that the limit is really 350 pounds. He wasn’t sure about getting on the ride, but the guy working it kept pushing him to try. He even wrestled the safety bar onto Chris. It took several tries to get it a green light. It seems Chris should have trusted his instincts.

Thankfully, the ride supported his weight. And on 11000-Lb Sisters, he even rode it twice because he had so much fun. He had a look of pure joy as he whizzed through the laser coaster ride. But at some parks, overweight riders have been seriously injured. Some even died after being flung from rides…

Baby Gage at Risk in Hot Tub on 1000-Lb Sisters?

Chris’ wife, Brittany, held Gage Halterman while in the hot tub. Beside her was Amy and Tammy’s sister, Amanda Halterman. And sure, Gage looked happy playing in the hot tub, but they broke all the rules. All health and safety websites and child health organizations say it clearly. You shouldn’t take a baby into a hot tub. Here’s why.

According to the Center for Disease Control (CDC) and Model Aquatic Health Code, children under five should not be in hot tubs. First, there’s the risk of drowning. But with Gage Halterman held the whole time, that wasn’t the concern. It’s the heat of the water. According to the CDC, a baby’s skin is thin. And that means little Gage from1000-Lb Sisters could have overheated.

The guidelines say babies should “not be permitted” in a hot tub “at all” for this reason. And there’s another factor to consider. The 1000-Lb Sisters didn’t seem to have a swim diaper on Gage Halterman. Those are distinctively blue. He was in a standard diaper, it appeared. Infants can’t control their bodily functions. So, they can pee or poo in the spa making it unsanitary.

Watch the upcoming 1000-Lb Sisters episode to see little Gage in the hot tub. What do you think?

    1. Give me a break the jets were not even on and he was just fine was he crying NO he was happy baby boy. Some people need to calm down.

  1. I used to take my grandkids into the hot tub all the time although I did get the temp down to the 90’s first. It was no hotter than bath water. Its my own private tub and we keep it clean and sanitized at all times. A public one at resorts should probably be avoided.
