A recent episode of 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days featured a scene with Gino Palazzolo and Jasmine Pineda that reminded viewers a lot of 90 Day Fiancé cast members Big Ed Brown and Rose Vega from season 4. Gino, a man in his fifties, has traveled to Panama to meet his 34-year-old girlfriend Jasmine for the first time. Having had no luck dating locally, Gino now intends to propose to Jasmine during the trip and also have kids with her, without knowing she’s on birth control pills. Gino packed a lot of gifts for Jasmine, including an electric toothbrush that certainly falls into the Big Ed category of presents for a significant other.
Before Gino flew from Michigan to Panama City on 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days, there were a lot of major red flags about Jasmine. Gino was paying money to Jasmine for her Botox and braces despite losing his job. Her jealousy issues are also concerning because Jasmine required Gino to call her every time he went out apart from sending her evidence of everything. However, Gino has also come across as borderline scary and not just because of sending Jasmine’s private photos to his ex. He visited a pharmacy and picked up pregnancy tests for Jasmine. Additionally, Gino got a toothbrush and extra heads because cleaning teeth manually is difficult, which seemed odd.
Viewers were instantly reminded of Big Ed Brown going on a shopping spree for dental essentials because he noticed Rose had bad breath at the airport. The San Diego resident gifted his ex mouth wash, minty toothpaste, and of course, a toothbrush. He also presented Rose with purple lingerie but then mocked her for having breath that wasn’t “pretty” and bad teeth. However, he hadn’t been considerate enough to find out that Rose had an ulcer and the smell came from her stomach. Many felt the scene between Gino and Jasmine was similar to the Ed and Rose situation as the gifts were obviously very creepy and insulting to the women.
Big Ed told Rose he was concerned that, if she got the disease in her mouth, it could go to her heart and make her sick. Meanwhile, Gino mentioned that Jasmine wouldn’t find the toothbrush in her country. Apart from these embarrassing explanations the men gave to defend their gifts, Jasmine’s voice in the scene when she said “Thank you babe” sounded eerily similar to Rose. Besides, both Big Ed and Gino have looked for younger girlfriends in different parts of the world. Like Gino coming across as somewhat likable due to his awkwardness and goofy laugh initially, a few viewers also called Big Ed the most genuine cast member for his honesty in episode 1 of 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days season 4.
Besides, like Rose, Jasmine comes across as someone who’ll stand her ground and walk away when she finds out that Gino has been texting his ex-girlfriend behind her back. Many believe Gino and Jasmine aren’t together anymore, similar to Big Ed and Rose’s story that ended during the finale. However, the resemblance between these plots is also making some who watch the show suspicious of it being staged because the producers want Gino and Jasmine to be the new Big Ed and Rose on purpose.
