The Derricos of TLC’s Doubling Down With the Derricos have now filed for bankruptcy five different times. It seems that this has caused their home to go into foreclosure. What will this family of 16 do?

They are currently living in a four-bedroom, three-bathroom home and with all of the children in the house, fans of the show are worried that they may have bitten off more than they can chew with all of these children.

Their home is currently scheduled to be put up on an auction sale site and with the new season of the show coming up, fans are curious just what they will do with their living situation.

Doubling Down With the Derricos: House in Foreclosure

In March of 2020, it looks like Deon Derrico filed a petition for mediation assistance for the home. The home was purchased back in 2015 and according to the papers from the court, it went into default just a month after the purchase of the home.

The filing of the papers is to “provide a remedy of last resort for the homeowner to avoid foreclosure and loss of his/her home”. The mediation process will help to make negotiations easier between the Derricos and the lenders. According to the records from the court, the mediation has failed and it was dismissed and this is why the home is being foreclosed upon.

In February of 2021, Deon made a complaint against the US Bank National Association, where the loan on his home is with. The sale of the home was to happen in March, but Deon told the loan company that the date was “improper” and the family couldn’t lose their home with 14 children in it.

The Derricos have also done a lot of renovations to the home that cost them over $35,000. He told the loan company that he has paid for all of the renovations and he is doing everything he can to avoid the foreclosure.

The home is now listed on the auction site to be sold on September 1, 2021 at 9 am. The Derricos have yet to mention the foreclosure and TLC hasn’t made a statement about the home yet either.

It is clear that the family does have a lot of debt and it looks like they need something magical to happen if they are ever going to get out of it. Many fans feel that Karen should not have any more children until they can afford to pay their mortgage.
